Job scope: 20 to 30 hours (Mon-Thu)
Remuneration: based on TvÖD Bund, up to E13
Holiday: 30 days over five working days/week
Job period: immediately, open-ended, six-month probationary period
Home office: 50/50

Work context
Citizens For Europe gUG (CFE) is a non-profit, civil society organisation and social enterprise based in Berlin. With its funded projects and programmes, CFE focuses on strengthening civil society and democracy, promoting and recognising diversity and reducing discrimination, especially racism. Under the brand Vielfalt entscheidet - Data for Equity, the technology-based, intersectional and racism-critical collection, evaluation and reporting of anti-discrimination and equality data (ADGD, find out more here) in organisations, communities and industries is to be expanded and further standardised.

We are looking for
someone who is passionate about and enjoys helping us to further develop and improve our collection and analysis of anti-discrimination and equality data. Do you enjoy working with data? Do you want to support marginalised communities and do activist work? Then you've come to the right place!

Your areas of responsibility

  • Expansion and further development of the collection of anti-discrimination and equality data: theory-based and impact-orientated
  • Design and implementation of surveys and quantitative analyses 
  • Supporting our Limesurvey and R-based data analysis
  • Finding creative solutions for the visualisation of anti-discrimination and equality data
  • Creating reports and presentations of results
  • Support in the planning, implementation, documentation and evaluation of survey processes.
  • Realisation of guided interviews, focus groups and other qualitative survey methods.
  • Support in the planning of events, such as hackathons or consultation processes
  • Networking with other actors in the technology-based collection of anti-discrimination and equality data

Your profile

  •  Completed university degree in e.g. political science, sociology, psychology, diversity studies, gender studies, migration studies or other relevant subject areas.
  • Sound knowledge of quantitative methods or data science is required (knowledge gained outside of your studies counts).
  • Confident handling of R (or other quantitative analysis programmes such as STATA), preferably with practical experience; if required, willingness to undergo further training with us.
  • Knowledge of collecting, analysing and reporting survey data and qualitative methodological skills desirable.
  • Interest in the topics of anti-discrimination, intersectionality, critique of racism and promotion of diversity.
  • An attitude critical of discrimination and racism.
  • Independent and structured work, reliability and ability to work in a team.
  • Good knowledge of German and English.
