#ViRaLfonds Re-granting Scheme

Re-granting to empower local activists

Initiated by Citizens For Europe and the Bertelsmann Foundation, the re-granting and micro-granting scheme “Action Fund ViRaL – Strengthening Diversity, Combating Racism, Engaging Locally” links the networks, expertise and reputation of a non-profit organization with the financial engagement and funding objectives of a foundation. Both work together to reach and support those who stand against racism and exclusion at the local level and in rural areas. ViRaL combines both a financial grant of 5.000€ and a year-long tailored accompanying program to empower the grantees to grow, professionalize and implement their project idea impactfully.

Tandem Europe is a programme that strengthens Trans-European collaborations towards social change. The programme has developed special tools and methods to facilitate and develop these partnerships. For the first round of Tandem Europe between 2015 and 2017, Citizens For Europe was in charge of documenting the collaboration stories with the aim to showcase the Tandem methods to a broader audience, to share the learnings of the participants and show how these methods strengthen collaboration, as well as to inspire other cultural managers to replicate those methods for their own collaboration.

Allianz Kulturstiftung´s Summer Academy

Fostering dialogue between academics and civil society

Since 2004, the Allianz Summer Academy (ASA) brings together students from five renowned international universities at the Allianz Group Management Institute where they meet representatives from business, civil society and the European institutions. The resulting ASA publication compiles the papers of student groups from 5 European universities exploring current European challenges with policy-oriented academic research. Citizens For Europe (CFE) has been entrusted with the conception and coordination of ASA´s resulting publication since 2014 and we have collaborated on three issues so far.
